Determining the Role of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) in Treatment-Resistant
Lea is part of the UQ Dermatology Research Centre based at TRI. The Onco-Derm is a collaborative study, conducted by a multidisciplinary team of clinicians from the Princess Alexandra Hospital and researchers from UQ-FI. This study will investigate the serious issue of cutaneous immune-related adverse events from particular immune checkpoint inhibitors in the treatment of cancer, assessing the interactions with the skin microbiome.

Dr Benjamin Lazarus is a kidney specialist partnering with MSH scientist, A/Prof David Vesey on a pilot study to improve the early detection of albuminuria, as an accurate predictor of kidney disease onset in Queensland.

Determining the Role of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) in Treatment-Resistant
Dr Emily Wilson, a consultant neurologist based at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, has established a new collaboration with TRI-based researcher Prof Selena Bartlett from QUT to explore the determining roles of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) in treatment-resistant epilepsy. This pilot retrospective cohort study will analyse the impact that ACEs may have of epilepsy, to inform and support clinical plans and to improve patient outcomes.
