Premium support for start-ups

Within the TRI campus you will find start-up biomedical companies in the early stages of research and product development of medical interventions or technologies, as well as companies that provide support
services to the biotech sector.

These young biotech and medtech companies base themselves at TRI to access facilities, technology and resources– giving them time to establish, build, test and develop their products.

As part of the TRI ecosystem, these companies are enveloped by support services and collaborative opportunities that can create new partnerships, foster exchange of ideas, and provide access to training and mentorship.

TRI provides this foundation for research excellence, enabling biotech and medtech start-ups to remain in Queensland throughout their R&D journeys.

Microbiome

Microba at TRI

Looking to transform human health by better understanding the microbiome, Microba came to TRI as a start-up company. Using next generation approaches to look at how we measure and inform decisions that are important to human health.

“We have some of the most highly specialised DNA sequencing equipment, not only in Australia, but in the world based here. Without TRI’s support that just wouldn’t be possible.”

Prof Trent Munro, Senior VP of Therapeutics, Microba
