Adult Clinical Trials at TRI

TRI’s Clinical Research Facility (CRF) located on the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) campus provides state-of-the-art specialist facilities, resources and expertise for investigator-led and commercially sponsored clinical trials.

The CRF is housed directly across from the TRI on Levels 4 and 5 of the PAH R Wing and is operated by Metro South Hospital and Health Service, with direct access to hospital facilities and emergency response teams

Capabilities

The CRF provides clinical space and resources for researchers to conduct research using their own research teams or can provide full clinical nursing support to care for patients on clinical trials. CRF nursing support includes the administration of medications (including phase one investigational products and chemotherapy) and performing investigations as per protocol.

 

Facilities

Level 4 of the facility comprises a reception and clinical areas including a phlebotomy room, 2 interview rooms, 7 investigation rooms, 4 bed bay, 8 lounge chairs and a gym.

Level 5 of the facility comprises of office space and a laboratory (PC1). This includes 82 desk spaces, 3 telephone interview booths, 2 meeting rooms and staff facilities. The laboratory is suitable for processing clinical trial samples and contains temperature monitored fridge/freezer storage for samples and medications.

Support Services

The CRF is complemented by TRI’s Translational Trials (TT) team of dedicated clinical research professionals who provide clinical trial management services.
