The Translation Pathways Program is one of TRI’s flagship educational offerings. Working in partnership with Bright Arena and CSIRO’s ON Program, TRI offers training workshops, Translation Fellowships and ad hoc coaching to complement the commercialisation training and services provided by our partner institutes.
This program helps researchers identify and develop their value propositions and supports new collaborations and increased access to non-traditional funding sources. TRI’s goal is to foster research impact and ultimately to fast-track the journey from discovery to bedside.
TRI runs a range of programs to help scientists and health consumers develop successful research partnerships. TRI invites consumers and community members who are interested in having an active role in the health research process to get in touch. Connecting consumers with TRI scientists will help advance world-leading research.
SPARQ-ed [spark-ed]
SPARQ-ed is a unique biomedical educational program for secondary school students, delivered by a collaboration between TRI and the Queensland Department of Education. Each year, more than 2000 students and teachers take part in workshops, research immersion programs or teacher professional development training. SPARQ-ed operates a specialised teaching laboratory and learning centre at TRI as well as running a rural outreach program.
TRI runs a program to nurture its early and mid-career researchers (EMCR). The purpose of the program is to support, train and mentor our EMCRs to increase translational capability and to promote career success. Key elements of the program include an annual Professional Development Workshop, monthly networking and information events as well as targeted grants and fellowships.
TRI runs an annual workshop to upskill researchers in research communication. The workshops are designed to help with communicating research to a non-scientific audience and are applicable to media, social media, seminars and grant applications.
TRI delivers seminars designed to build essential knowledge and skills for the commercialisation journey. Covering key areas such as translational science, clinical trial readiness, regulatory pathways, and scale-up manufacturing, these seminars evolve to address the changing needs of the industry.
